The Capriccio thrillingly sets off a saxophone quartet against the full wind band, while the Rhapsody embroils the solo trumpet and wind band in a dazzling set of variations. The Symphony is a tightly-integrated work whose central movement is a plaintive chaconne.
The album opens with a Fanfare composed for the Kennedy Centre’s 25th Anniversary season.
