This Naxos series of recordings aims to record Sousa’s complete works for wind band, including the 136 marches and numerous other scores.
This seventh disc in the series features the grand Presidential Polonaise, the Intaglio Waltzes (modelled on Johann Strauss’s famous examples), and the triumphant Golden Jubilee March in which Sousa imagined “the world passing in review”.
“We can only hope Volume 4 will be along very soon… he has a good band to work with, [and we can] count on Keith Brion to put an excellent Sousa recording together. The Royal Artillery Band, founded in 1762, is a very good band.” - American Record Guide on 8.559092, Volume 3
