Fux was not only a teacher of counterpoint, but also created numerous secular and sacred compositions as Imperial Court Kapellmeister in Vienna. His Requiem was composed in 1720 for the funeral of the Emperor's widow Eleonore Magdalene.
Around 10 years later, Pergolesi created his Missa in D. This sacred work is also a discovery and shows a completely different side of the composer.
I Pizzicanti is part of the new generation of Early Music Performers and was founded in 2009 by Nadja and Chani Lesaulnier, Rafael Becerra, and Jonathan Pešek. Graduated from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, I Pizzicanti follows the principles of historically-informed performance practice, perpetuating the movement of rediscovery of the 17th-, 18th- and 19th-century repertoire through numerous musicological research projects. I Pizzicanti is a regular guest at renowned Festivals in Switzerland and Europe and are joined here by Lukas Wanner and Zeronove.
