About
Inspired by the French repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, flautist Anne Thivierge has chosen to highlight works for flute and continuo by François Couperin, Michel Blavet, Marin Marais, and Jean-Marie Leclair. Gambist Mélisande Corriveau and harpsichordist Eric Milnes accompany her on this French Baroque journey.
Anne Thivierge performs in Europe, Canada, and the United States with renowned ensembles such as Ensemble Correspondances, Ensemble Pygmalion, Boston Baroque, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Les Violons du Roy, and Arion Baroque Orchestra. Anne Thivierge holds a master's degree from the Université de Montréal where she studied with flautist Lise Daoust. She then specialised in baroque flute with Marc Hantaï in Paris and at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium) with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns, where she completed a master's degree with great distinction in 2006.
She has made numerous recordings as a soloist, chamber musician, and with orchestras, notably with conductors Raphaël Pichon, Eric Milnes, and Mathieu Lussier.
Specialising in early music performance, Mélisande Corriveau has been hailed by critics for her exceptional musical mastery on viola da gamba, cello, and recorder.
"Mélisande Corriveau [...] possesses formidable interpretive skills and a great knowledge of the practices of the period." - Gramophone
A native of New York City, Eric Milnes has established an international reputation as a conductor, harpsichordist, and organist through his numerous performances for the most distinguished festivals and presenters in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia.
