About

The enthusiasms, desires, loves, and disappointments of the most famous group of young people in the world of opera. And in the end, it is the nostalgia of youth that has always moved anyone who comes into contact with this wonderful opera, which had its world première at Teatro Regio in 1896.

On 1 February 1896, the premiere of Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème took place at the Teatro Regio Torino under the direction of Arturo Toscanini. On the occasion of the 125th anniversary, a new production from the Teatro Regio was presented, completely in the spirit of the premiere.

The staging, set and costumes are based on the famous original sketches made by set and costume designer Adolf Hohenstein for the premiere in 1896.

Maestro Daniel Oren takes over the musical direction, Maria Teresa Leva and Iván Ayón Rivas sing the roles of Mimì and Rodolfo.

New production by Paolo Gavazzeni and Piero Maranghi on the occasion of the 125th birthday of Puccini’s beloved opera La Bohème, with the original set design and costumes of the 1896 performance. An innovative production under the musical direction of Daniel Oren.

Bonus: Behind the Scenes
