Jeremie Conus (piano)About
During his studies, the young Swiss pianist Jérémie Conus thought a lot about the national identity of the Swiss musical landscape, especially that of piano music. While the French, German or Russian musical traditions are historically and stylistically firmly established concepts, there is hardly any talk of Swiss music. With this recording Conus wants to reveal its still too often unrecognized potential.
Jérémie Conus is a Swiss pianist from the region of Basel. After many years of tuition with Alicja Masan at the Music Academy of Basel, he received all his further education at the Zurich University of the Arts in the piano class of Prof. Konstantin Scherbakov. During this time he was awarded prizes at various piano competitions in Switzerland and abroad. Among others, he earned two prizes by the Migros Kulturprozent (2016 and 2017), a first prize at the Landolt Piano Competition in Zurich (2018) and was among the prizewinners of the Rahn Music Prize for Piano 2020.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Jérémie Conus has performed in concert halls such as the Tonhalle Zurich, the Tonhalle Maag Zurich, the Stadtcasino Basel and the Joseph Joachim Hall in Berlin. His repertoire ranges from the baroque period to contemporary works, with a strong emphasis on the music of the 20th century.
In addition to an active pianistic career, he is also a piano pedagogue at the Zurich Conservatory Music School and performs regularly as an organist.
