About
Khouri was one of Australia and New Zealand’s best-know artists. He was resident in Europe for over a decade and was a welcome visitor on both sides of the Atlantic. He made three tours of the USA and appeared regularly on BBC Radio 3 and the World Service. Khouri’s career included recitals and concerts at major European festivals and as an orchestral performer, he played with many of the world’s top orchestras and conductors. His recordings received the highest possible praise. As a teacher he was much in demand giving masterclasses at several notable institutions both in the UK and USA.
‘Expertly performed by Khouri…..performance abounds with flair and virtuosity’ – Gramophone (Bax)
‘Refreshingly inventive’ – Gramophone (Finzi)
‘The good-humoured ribaldry of this skilled playing’ – Gramophone (Horowitz)
