About
"The surviving stories deal with the death of Orpheus in individual 'chapters', sometimes as reporting texts, sometimes in first-person form as statements by Orpheus," says Rolf Riehm in his reflections on the composition Die Tode des Orpheus. He lets thoughts, "meltdowns" as he describes them, of the present and current events flow into the composition. The composition aims to ensure that the Orpheus legends can be perceived as a kind of "reflection" for current reports and narratives.
