It is a completely new and musically revealing version of the legendary Cracow bard's output, presented in extremely interesting musical arrangements by Andrzej Zarycki. The album is released on the 80th birthday of both artists as the culmination of their long- term cooperation. The pieces featured on the album stem from the extremely rich oeuvre of Leszek Długosz, composer, actor, poet, for years associated with the famous Cracow cabaret The Cellar under the Rams. He composed music both to his own texts and to works by other poets (Berlin 1913 to the words by Julian Tuwim, Pierre de Ronsard's Sonnet). The warm and intimate atmosphere of the original performance is accompanied by the rich tone colour of a symphony orchestra.
The arrangements by Andrzej Zarycki, a film music composer, whose oeuvre also includes a number of works representing the trend of sung poetry, go perfectly with the texts interpreted by Długosz. For those who do not know the output of the Cracow bard, it may be a discovery of new musical worlds, for his admirers – a moving encounter with an already mature artist, his subtle and at the same time deeply expressive artistic creation.
The artist is accompanied by the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra conducted by Jurek Dybał and invited artists, including Leszek Długosz's ensemble consisting of Tomasz Góra, Wiesław Murzyński, Wiesław Dziedziński and Krzysztof Oczkowski. The authors of the musical arrangements are Andrzej Zarycki and Wiesław Murzyński.
