By using a Metaphone (a unique musical instrument-building imagined by Louis Dandrel), Alexandre Lévy put chains, doors, walls, and machinery from the mining site into music, and he also paid tribute to the immigrant populations that came there to take part in the 20th century’s biggest industrial adventure.
