Leaping over genres, "Villa Vivaldi" palpably, audibly, and movingly links Antonio Vivaldi's virtuoso instrumental concerti to modern commissioned works that were written specifically for this program: traité des passions by Moritz Eggert and the title piece Villa Vivaldi by Mark Scheibe.

The international musician-adventurers of the ensemble led by Elisabeth Champollion and Franciska Anna Hajdu find glamour, heat, and joy in the scores of Vivaldi, Bach and other past masters as well as the commission of compelling new music from living composers, whose works draw on the intensity of baroque passions using the musical language of today.
