Moritz Ernst (piano)About
“Curiosity is one of the most important traits of a composer: One should be aware of what has been achieved already but also know what does not fit into one’s musical language...To devise my own musical universe in my work, I thoroughly went through the different aspects and elements of music. I wrote many little pieces which concentrate primarily on the melodic, harmonic or rhythmical elements and studied possibilities for numerous new sound combinations with unconventional ensembles.” – Miklós Maros
Moritz Ernst is presently performing as pianist, harpsichordist and chamber musician a wide range of repertoire from baroque to contemporary music. Concerts include appearances in Germany, at the Piano Festival Feuchtwangen, the Lake Constance Festival and the Beethoven Festival Bonn.
He has also held master classes at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart, Germany and at The Royal Music Academy in Malmö, Sweden. The international press has highly acclaimed Moritz Ernst for his superb recording of music by Sir Malcolm Arnold. The Classical Music Magazine granted him their highest rating. Gramophone magazine praised his sparkling and stimulating rendition of this recording. In addition, he has performed for international radio stations such as DRS2 (Zurich), Radio Luxembourg, SR (Radio of the Saarland), DeutschlandRadio Kultur, Deutschlandfunk and BBC London.
