The career of violinist Jennifer Choi breaks through the conventional boundaries of solo violin, chamber music and the art of improvisation. A frequent collaborator with living composers, she has premiered solo and chamber-music works written for her by Susie Ibarra, Wadada Leo Smith, John Zorn and others. The pianist Cristina Valdés is known for presenting innovative concerts, with repertoire ranging from Bach to Xenakis. She has toured extensively with the Bang on a Can All Stars and has collaborated with many celebrated composers, performing side by side with Terry Riley, Morton Subotnick and Joan Tower, among others. She is an Artist-in-Residence at the University of Washington where she teaches piano and is the Director of the UW Modern Music Ensemble. Fernando Domínguez, clarinet, is the leading exponent of the contemporary repertoire for clarinet in Mexico. He is a graduate of the Vienna State Conservatoire and worked with Harry Sparnaay at the Sweelinck Conservatoire in Amsterdam. He is on the faculty of National Autonomous University of Mexico.
