About

A spectacular programme of popular virtuoso organ works played by Scott Farrell, Director of Music and Organist of Rochester Cathedral, showcasing the full range of colour and dynamics of this splendid instrument. The organ was enhanced with new Swell reeds in 2016, and these exciting stops are heard here on a recording for the first time.

Scott Farrell was Organ Scholar at Royal Holloway, University of London followed by St Paul's, Knightsbridge. In 1993, Scott took up the post of Assistant Director of Music at St Edmundsbury Cathedral and then in 1999 moved to Ely Cathedral as assistant to Paul Trepte.

In 2002 he became Organist and Master of the Music at the Cathedral Church of St Nicholas, Newcastle upon Tyne where he first worked with Regent Records, releasing three discs with the Cathedral Choir and a solo organ disc, Vol. VIII in Regent's English Cathedral Series to critical acclaim (“Nimble playing from Scott Farrell” BBC Radio 3 Record Review).

In 2008 Scott moved to Rochester where he is responsible for all music in the Cathedral.
