Yannick Nézet-Séguin made his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007 with Dvořák’s vibrant Sixth Symphony; this repeat performance from 2016 is coupled with Dvořák’s powerful and strikingly original overture to Othello.
Yannick Nézet-Séguin was Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra from 2008 to 2014 and has become one of the world’s most renowned conductors, currently holding leadership posts with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Montreal’s Orchestre Métropolitain.
Recorded live at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, London, on 3 February 2016 (Othello Overture, Symphony No.6) and 27 May 2009 (Symphony No.7)
‘Nézet-Séguin drew a ripe string sound from the LPO and unleashed fearsome brass playing in the score’s violent denouement’ - Bachtrack, February 2016
