About
This double CD brings together Ernst’s original compositions for violin and piano, his String Quartet No.1 and arrangements of his works by the two artists heard on this recording: Thomas Christian and Hans Winking. This corresponds to Ernst’s own performance practice - he presented his pieces not only with piano and orchestra but also in string quartet and string quintet ensembles.
Thomas Christian Ensemble:
- Thomas Christian (violin)
- Fabian Rieser (violin)
- Gertrud Weinmeister (viola)
- Bruno Weinmeister (cello)
- Hans Winking (double bass)
- Evgeny Sinayskiy (piano)
