Trio FruhstuckAbout
The young and aspiring Trio Früstück presents itself as versatile on its debut CD and underlines its musical maturity both in Haydn’s Piano Trio No.26 in C minor and in the Piano Trio No.3 in C minor op.101 by Johannes Brahms. Apart from prizes at international competitions, the three musicians Clara Frühstück (piano), Maria Sawerthal (violin), and Sophie Abraham (cello), can already look back on a number of works especially dedicated to their ensemble by contemporary composers, such as the Caprice (VI) ‘mosaïque’ for piano trio, heard here, by Thomas Wally, born in Vienna in 1981. Written after a period of keen interest in Olivier Messiaen, this work combines both sound impressions and technical elements of his musical diction, a diction that the Trio Früstück commands just as effortlessly as that of Haydn or Brahms.
Linked by their special passion for the music of Viennese Classicism and their keen interest in contemporary music, Clara Frühstück, Maria Sawerthal and Sophie Abraham founded the Trio Frühstück in 2010. The ensemble initially studied with Claus-Christian Schuster (Altenberg Trio Vienna) at Vienna Conservatoire/Private University and then received further musical inspiration from Henri Sigfridsson (Berlin), Chia Chou (Graz), Reinhard Latzko and Christian Altenburger (Vienna). Currently, the trio is being supervised by Johannes Meissl and Teresa Leopold at the University of Music in Vienna.
