This live performance was recorded at the fifth Festival for Pianists held at Chetham’s School of Music in August 2005. It presents music from the two most important Polish composers by a Polish artist with a firm and widely acknowledged natural affinity with the music of her compatriots.

After studies in her home country of Poland and in Russia, Alicja Fiderkiewicz moved to the UK where she has built a fine reputation as a masterful interpreter of the Romantic repertoire and of Polish composers in particular. Originally recorded by Dunelm for limited release, but deleted after Dunelm founder Jim Pattison died, this album is being re-released as a result of high demand.
