Ji Liu (piano)About
Born in Shanghai, Ji Liu started playing the piano at the age of 3. Whilst still only 13, he won an international competition which carried the enviable prize of a recital in New York's renowned Carnegie Hall. That concert proved to be a major turning point in Ji's career. He subsequently left China and relocated on his own to Europe to devote himself entirely to music, first studying in Spain, then Germany until in 2007 he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music and moved to London, which he now considers home.
Ji Liu has continued to win awards, has played on some of the world's most famous stages and has appeared at many international festivals.
Ji Liu’s debut album ‘Piano Reflections’ includes works by composers across the classical spectrum, from Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy to Liszt, Schubert and Tchaikovsky by way of Chinese composer Lu Wencheng - brand new recordings of ten of the most beautiful piano classics of all time.
