This disc features the Messe Hercules Dux Ferrariae and the Messe Chascun mecrie… meine Hercule! performed by the vocal ensembles Metamorphoses and ‘Biscantor!’ (whose name recalls the stunning Franco-Flemish virtuoso singers, professionals who were accustomed to the subtleties of vocal polyphony and were often composers themselves, like Josquin himself).
The booklet contains detailed notes and information about the origin of these masses and are beautifully performed on this CD released on the Ar-Re-Se label.
