The close tie between the Wilten Boys' Choir, Emperor Maximilian I and the Court Church in Innsbruck induced the management of this tradition-steeped choir, in conjunction with Innsbruck Tourist Association and the Tyrolean Provincial Museums, to initiate the Court Church concerts in 2009, which have taken place every year since then.

This recording contains a cross-section of this celebrated series. Here, the internationally performing ensemble, under its artistic director Johannes Stecher, traces an arc from the Renaissance over the Baroque to High Romanticism. All the choir pieces as well as the solos are exclusively sung by choir members, ie by children from the age of nine upwards and, as regards the tenor and bass registers, by adolescents and young adults.
