About

The Live Icelandic Recordings 1973-79

This release celebrates the 80th birthday (8th March 2012) of the distinguished Danish cellist Erling Blöndal Bengtsson. Using tapes from Icelandic Radio, all issued for the first time, Bengtsson can be heard in Elgar’s Cello Concerto and Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata, which are both new to his discography.

A truly wonderful musical portrait of this remarkable performer.
