About

Fascinating indeed, how Anette Maiburg always finds just the right new partners for her “Classica ...” concept series released on MDG! These musicians naturally and inspiringly combine the local colour of their traditional instruments with the characteristic sound of the transverse flute, classical guitar and double bass. After Cuban, Venezuelan and Argentine albums, this time the musical pleasure tour takes us to the rich and varied regions of Spanish folklore and classical music.

What would Spain’s music be without the guitar? And so the tour begins with “Andaluza” from Granados’ Spanish Dances for flute and guitar, which soon are joined by the double bass and castanets in Albéniz’sMalagueña”. In Omar Acosta’s Jasmin” additional fire is provided by the flamenco guitar, bandola, cajón and palmas.

An audiophile feast for the ears in a production that makes you feel that you were and are there.
